Advantages of functional organizational structures:

1) more deep working of decisions on functional directions;

2) high competence of specialists, answering after (filling of functions;

3) freeing of linear managers from part of tasks, by functional leaders.

One of variants of functional structure — divisional which can be built on, regional (geographical), consumer (to the group of users, possessing general properties) principles.

To the basic problems of functional organizational structures it is possible to take an orientation on realization of the mainly fastened functions, absence of and at a change a situation both in organization and in out of it.

The special attention is deserved by adaptive structures, different flexibility, ability of operatively to change in accordance with the requirements of external environment. Preeminently adaptive organizational is capable, using all advantages linear and structures, successfully to function and develop in the constantly changing world.

3. An adaptive organizational structure is flexible structures, able to change (to adapt oneself) to the requirements environments (by analogy with living organisms). The followings types are selected adaptive organizational structures:

1) project — temporal structure, created for the decision of concrete task. Sense of this structure consists of that for the decision of task to collect all specialists in one command, carry out a project high-quality and in short space, a project structure blossoms out whereupon;

2) array — functional-temporal-having a special purpose pattern. It is the special type of organization, wholly built on a project type, operating long time, that characteristically for organizations, constantly existing in a project form.

On a vertical line a management on the separate spheres of activity of organization is built, on a horizontal line a management is carried out projects. For an array pattern creation of connections is between specialists, organization of works on certain tasks, without depending on position in organization, plugged in concrete subdivision.

Advantages of array organizational pattern:

• activation of activity of leaders due to of programmatic subdivisions and sharp increase of contacts with functional subdivisions;

• flexible use of skilled potential of organization.

The lacks of structure of such type consist in complication of structure, caused imposition of plenty of vertical and horizontal connections, and also in complication of management organization in the situation of absence of undivided authority.
